Amendments to the Law of Turkmenistan “On highways and road activities” published

Amendments and additions to the Law of Turkmenistan “On highways and road activities” dated March 2, 2013 came into force today.

In particular, the Law of Turkmenistan “On amendments and additions to the Law of Turkmenistan “On roads and road activities” makes the following amendments:

1)    in the first part of article 6, the words “Ministry of Construction and Architecture of Turkmenistan” shall be replaced by the words “State Agency for Management of the Construction of Highways”;
2)    paragraph 3 of article 7 shall be supplemented with a subparagraph of the following content:
“h) The procedure for calculating the transfers and use of funds for the construction, reconstruction, capital, intermediate, current repairs and maintenance of highways;
3)    in article 8:
after paragraph 2 add the following paragraphs:
21) ensures the integrity of the maintenance of roads under its jurisdiction;
22) ensures compliance with the requirements of regulatory documents on standardization during the implementation of design, capital, intermediate, current repairs and maintenance of highways under its jurisdiction;
23) carries out the organization of activities for the construction, reconstruction, capital, intermediate, current repairs and maintenance of highways under its jurisdiction”;
paragraph 6 shall be supplemented with a subparagraph as follows:
“h) The procedure for calculating the transfers and use of funds for the construction, reconstruction, capital, intermediate, current repairs and maintenance of highways”;
in paragraph 10 after the word “number” add the words “and names” and replace the words “run by the hyakimliks of the velayats and city of Ashgabat” with the words “its run”;
4)    in paragraph 6 article 9 the words “and reports on road activities” shall be deleted;
5)    in article 10:
in the first part after the words “under the jurisdiction” add the words “authorized body”;
in paragraph one of part two the words “local executive authorities” shall be replaced by the words “authorized body”;
6)    in the second part of article 19, the words “local executive authorities” shall be replaced by the words “authorized body”;
7)    in the first part of Article 31, after the words “authorized body”, add the words “its enterprises and organizations”.
The law was published in today's issue of the “Neutral Turkmenistan” newspaper.
