Turkmenistan will join TRACECA in autumn 2023
Turkmenistan will join TRACECA in the fall of 2023. This was stated by Asset Asavbayev, Secretary General of the permanent secretariat of the TRACECA intergovernmental commission.
In particular, he said that from a legal point of view, the work on the country's accession has been completed, and all TRACECA member countries have expressed their readiness to accept Turkmenistan into the organization.
The Secretary General also noted that Turkmenistan's entry into the TRACESA will accelerate the development of the country's transport sector, as well as the digitalization of freight transportation. Moreover, the country will receive simplified access to 13 TRACECA member countries. For the Central Asian countries, in turn, new opportunities for the development of transport will open up, A. TRACESA is an international cooperation program between the European Union and partner countries on the organization of the transport corridor "Europe - Caucasus - Asia".
