President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov instructed the government to take additional social measures in connection with the New Year's holiday.

Speaking at a government meeting via video link, the head of state instructed Deputy Prime Minister Ch.Gylydjov, who oversees trade, starting from Saturday until January 1 of the coming year, to organize a festive trade in industrial and food products in markets and shops, reducing the prices of some of them to 50 percent. According to the Turkmen leader, this measure is being taken so that people can buy gifts for relatives and friends, and have a good New Year.

Director General of the Agency for Transport and Communications under the Cabinet of Ministers M.Chakyev was instructed on December 31 - January 1 to organize free travel of citizens on city buses.
