A meeting of the Council of Heads of Government of the CIS will be held today in Ashgabat

Today, the next meeting of the Council of Heads of Government of the Commonwealth of Independent States will be held in Ashgabat. On the agenda is the expansion of trade and economic cooperation between the participating countries, writes the MIC.

It is planned to discuss measures to enhance interaction in key sectors – energy, infrastructure, industry and other areas. The heads of government will consider the draft Concept of Energy Cooperation and the Action Plan for the development of transport corridors in the CIS.

In a narrow circle there will be an exchange of views on current issues of economic integration within the Commonwealth.

In addition, documents will be adopted on cooperation in healthcare, the chemical industry, hazardous waste management and intellectual property protection.

At this meeting, Ashgabat is planned to be declared the City of New Sports Opportunities of the Commonwealth.
