Toyota is preparing a powerful 2.0-liter turbo engine
Japanese automaker Toyota continues to actively develop its line of internal combustion engines. The new product will be a two-liter turbo engine capable of delivering an impressive power of up to 600 horsepower in the top racing version. It is noteworthy that this power is achieved without the use of any hybrid technologies, auto.ru reports with reference to Carscoops.
According to insiders, the new engine will be offered in several power settings: 300, 400 and 600 horsepower. Even the basic version with 300 horsepower has impressive power, which indicates the sporty focus of the engine.
According to experts, the most likely application of the new engine will be the sports division of Toyota Gazoo Racing. In particular, it can be installed on the revived model Toyota MR2, which is expected to have a mid-engine layout and all-wheel drive. It is also possible to use this engine on the front-engine coupe Celica, whose return to the market is also being discussed.
