Fiat announces suspension of assembly of the 500e electric hatchback

Since September 13, Fiat temporarily suspends production of the 500e electric car. The reason is simple: demand for the model has fallen sharply. The plant in Turin, where the electric car is assembled, will be idle for at least a month, auto.ru reports.
Many electric car manufacturers in Europe are now experiencing similar problems. However, despite the temporary difficulties, the company is not abandoning the development of the electric direction. Fiat plans to launch a hybrid version of the 500, which will have to compensate for the absence of a gasoline model and support the brand's sales during the transition period. The new car, based on the 500e, will appear on the market in about a year and a half.
