The President of Turkmenistan led a mass bike ride in Ashgabat
Today Turkmenistan celebrates World Bicycle Day.
On this occasion, a mass bicycle ride was held in Ashgabat, led by the President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov.
As the IIC reports with reference to SalamNews, early in the morning thousands of participants in the action started from the location of the “Bicycle” monument.
Members of the Cabinet of Ministers and the Mejlis of Turkmenistan, heads and employees of government agencies, representatives of public organizations, employees of diplomatic missions and international organizations accredited in Turkmenistan took part in the mass bike ride.
President Serdar Berdimuhamedov led the column, which, driving along Bitarap Turkmenistan avenue, moved towards the center of the capital. At the time of the action, the streets along which the bicycle column was traveling were cleared of motor vehicles.
Along the route, the participants of the action were greeted by musicians, performers and creative groups with their performances, the source notes.
