Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov met with the Minister of Industry of Pakistan

Chairman of the Khalk Maslakhaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov met with the Federal Minister of Industry and Production of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan Rana Tanvir Hussain. According to TDH, the parties discussed the prospects for the development of interstate relations.

The Minister conveyed greetings from the President of Pakistan Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Mian Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif. He noted the contribution of Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov to strengthening bilateral cooperation and the successes of Turkmenistan, in particular, the construction of the new “smart” city of Arkadag.

National Leader of the Turkmen people Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov emphasized the fruitfulness of interstate dialogue based on the historical and cultural community of peoples. He also expressed confidence that the current visit of the Pakistani minister will serve to strengthen bilateral ties.

During the meeting, special attention was paid to the implementation of joint energy and communication projects, including the construction of the Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan-India (TAPI) gas pipeline and the laying of power transmission lines and fiber-optic communications Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan (TAP).

The parties confirmed their focus on further strengthening cooperation in the interests of both countries.
