The Ministry of Internal Affairs of Turkmenistan issues a warning about increased fire hazard on pastures in hot weather

The State Fire Safety Service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Turkmenistan has issued a warning about the increased risk of fires breaking out on pastures in hot weather. In this regard, the department has reminded citizens and organizations of the need to observe a number of precautions when being in open areas.

The message published in the newspaper "Neutral Turkmenistan" states the following:

"Before lighting a fire on the pasture, a half-meter deep pit should be prepared so that the fire does not spread to the surrounding area. The fire can be lit when the weather is not windy. The area (15 meters) should be cleared of weeds.

After using the campfire, it must be completely extinguished - doused with water or covered with sand. Before leaving the site, it is necessary to make sure that no sparks are flying out of the fire pit.

Drivers should know that exhaust sparks can cause a fire when driving through the fields. Therefore, vehicles moving through the fields must be equipped with reliable spark arresters and first aid equipment.

Within a radius of 500 meters around livestock watering points, two fences at least 3.5 meters wide should be erected. In the areas of pastures, fields, vineyards of peasant associations located along railways, furrows at least 10 meters wide should be made. Fire barriers 4 meters wide should be created on the sections along the railways and roads.

The territories of temporary field dwellings of geological exploration expeditions should be cleared of weeds (up to 30 meters) and a fire-fighting strip at least 4 meters wide should be arranged."
The Ministry of Internal Affairs of Turkmenistan emphasizes that all institutions, enterprises and organizations, regardless of the form of ownership, are obliged to strictly comply with fire safety rules when carrying out any work on pastures, in the desert, mountains and forests.
