771 Lamborghini Urus is being recalled in China due to the risk of the hood opening while driving

The Chinese division of Volkswagen announced a recall of 771 Lamborghini Urus crossovers. The reason is the likelihood of the hood suddenly opening while driving at high speed, reports auto.ru.

The recall affects vehicles manufactured between October 7, 2022 and February 2, 2024. The problem is a flaw in the hood fastenings, due to which it can rise at speeds above 150 km/h. A counter flow of air may enter the gap between the hood, fenders and bumper, which in exceptional cases can lead to the lock breaking and the hood to open completely.

Lamborghini dealers are instructed to check the hood fastenings on all cars subject to recall. If necessary, they will be strengthened or replaced. Until then, owners of these Urus are strongly advised not to exceed 150 km/h.

It is worth noting that in China this speed is prohibited on public roads. You can legally accelerate to 150 km/h only on a race track.
