Turkmenistan and Slovakia strengthen bilateral cooperation

A delegation of Turkmenistan led by Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Ahmed Gurbanov visited the Slovak Republic to conduct political consultations and strengthen bilateral relations. This is stated in the message of the Turkmen Foreign Ministry.

During the visit, meetings were held with high-ranking representatives of Slovakia, including the state secretaries of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Economy, the presidential adviser on diplomatic affairs, the chairman of the parliamentary committee on foreign affairs and the head of the Slovak Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

The visit of the delegation of Turkmenistan to Slovakia brought a number of important results. The parties emphasized the importance of regular bilateral meetings, including at a high level, and expressed mutual support for the initiatives of both countries in the international arena, especially within the UN. Strengthening inter-parliamentary cooperation was discussed and an agreement was reached on the development of the legal framework, primarily in the economic sphere.

An Important result was the decision to hold a meeting of the intergovernmental commission on economic cooperation in 2025 in Bratislava. In addition, the prospects for organizing student exchanges and cultural events are considered.
