Mazda plans to update logo to enter premium segment

The Mazda car manufacturer has registered an updated version of its emblem with the Japanese Patent Office, auto.ru reports. The characteristic symbol in the form of a stylized bird inside an oval has acquired a more minimalistic look.

According to the publication, this may indicate that the company is preparing for rebranding in order to strengthen its position in the premium segment of the market.

The new emblem features a flat design, unlike the previous version with volumetric elements. The outline of the central element has become smoother, while the element itself, on the contrary, has acquired sharper angles.

Mazda has repeatedly stated its intention to shift its positioning towards the premium class, which is confirmed by the release of new models. For example, the brand's latest crossovers feature a more classic layout, a new approach to design and a more luxurious interior.

Recently, another major automaker, Lamborghini, also presented an updated logo.
