The representative of Turkmenistan successfully completed the WCO professional development program

K. Ahmedov, representative of the State Customs Service of Turkmenistan, successfully completed the 10-month Professional Development Program of the World Customs Organization (WCO) in Japan.

K. Ahmedov is the first representative of Turkmenistan to participate in this program, the civil service website reports.

The Professional Development Program is an initiative launched in 2009 by the World Customs Organization in collaboration with the Japan Customs Service. Candidates for participation are carefully selected.

Under the program, each year 10 candidates are given the opportunity to work in the WCO Secretariat for 10 months and conduct research on various customs-related issues, expand their knowledge and gain international experience.

Within the framework of the Program for 2023-2024, which began in September 2023, K. Ahmedov worked in the Capacity Building Department of the WCO Secretariat and conducted research activities on customs issues for ten months, the results of which were presented to the top management of the WCO, the source notes.

At this year's ceremony, World Customs Organization Secretary General Ian Saunders personally presented 10 graduates with certificates of successful completion of the program.
